Discover the Northern Lights
Why not discover the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) with a memorable arctic holiday?
Swirling, dancing streaks of red and green, rippling clouds of pink and yellow or eerie arcs of violet and blue; illuminating the sky, casting a heavenly, mesmeric glow over the world beneath. A natural light show – once seen, never forgotten.
Best viewed through the dark nights of winter, Aurora Borealis is at its most vivid across the skies of the Arctic Circle region
So, don’t delay, our consultants at arctic-circle-holidays.co.uk are waiting to help you discover the rare and wondrous beauty of the Northern Lights.

NORTHERN LIGHTS ITINERARY
Your Northern Lights break begins with a flight to Kiruna* in Sweden or Enontekio** in Finland, the ‘Gateways to the Arctic’. From these airports, you make the 1-2 hour transfer to Karesuando a spectacular journey, travelling through the majestic forests and passing countless frozen lakes (2 hours from Kiruna, 1 from Enontekio). The highlight of your break will be the two occasions when you set off beneath an Arctic night sky in the hope of encountering the fabled northern lights.
Your itinerary includes all the activities detailed below. We’ll organise the running order according to the local conditions while you’re there. We can also give you the chance to choose from our programme of optional excursions: perhaps spend a night in an igloo – a highlight of our Arctic Spirit programmes.
In addition to these exciting excursions Dr Stuart Clarke, award winning author and fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society, will be giving a series of exclusive talks on the Aurora Borealis (selected dates only).

Standard Double/Twin (Sleeps 2-4)
These value-for-money twin and double rooms offer a generous 15.8 square metres of space, with en suite facilities. Whilst they have not been refurbished in recent years, the rooms are comfortable and traditional. They can also accommodate a third person on a fold-up bed if required, making them ideal for the budget conscious. Larger rooms can sleep up to 4.

Deep in the heart of True Lapland, and located on the offical Northern Lights route, Karesuando offers once-in-life-time Arctic experiences without the crowds. For those looking to stay in the Swedish side of the village we also offer Northern Light stays at the Arctic Star hotel.
